I have been married for more than 22 years to my wife. She is a native of Japan, and we are committed to having a bi-cultural, bilingual relationship.
We live with our 12-year-old son as well as our miniature Australian shepherd and our son’s two guinea pigs in the Seattle suburbs.
Together, my wife and I enjoy taking walks, cooking together at home, discovering new restaurants, watching foreign films, and occasionally bingeing on a TV series on rainy Pacific Northwest afternoons.
In my free time, I enjoy staying active. I exercise regularly, mostly by jogging, and also enjoy hiking, cycling, kayaking, and cross-country skiing. I play golf badly. I enjoy playing the piano and guitar, but mostly for myself these days. In quieter moments, I like doing the New York Times crossword, reading literary mysteries, and playing chess with my son.
